Yanno, those old ladies that love cook books SO much that the hoard every single cook book they come in contact with?… Well, that’s kind of like me. haha So, when I saw this a year and a half ago, IT HAD TO BE MINE! haha
How could I not combine sex and food… two of my favorite things in the world! haha I was hesitant to buy it since usually “sex themed” items can go one way or another. But I was pleasantly surprised on how awesome it was… and is!! I grabbed the book and just started flipping through it, only to find recipes that are officially some of my favorites to this day.
The beautiful photography matched with these exciting recipes is absolutely inspiring. I honestly couldn’t wait to cook any of the recipes for someone special or even for myself. I was like a kid in a candy store with all this visual stimulation sparking in front of me, it made me want to cook with some of the random ingredients i’ve never had the chance to work with. It almost was a bit intimidating. But, Hopkins and Lockridge knew that even if you give a person a thousand recipes sometimes you need that extra help on what to do. After all the recipes at the end of the book, they give you a guide line on what to cook from astrological signs, seasons and “stages of the game”. The book is jam packed with wonderful sections that feature key aphrodisiac foods such as: Chocolate, asparagus, chiles, coffee, basil, grapes, strawberries, honey, ARTICHOKE!! <3, black beans, oysters, rosemary, edible flowers, pine nuts, avocado and figs!
There are so many moments, where my inner domestic goddess believes that making a home cooked meal for their lover is a complete necessity. So, when I had the chance to use it for a special night, you can’t imagine how ecstatic I was. This book was a little nudge to help you in the right direction or if you just want to spice things up.
